Munia Khan is an acclaimed poet, writer, teacher, and editor of several books and anthologies. Her passion for the written word continues to shape her journey through the literary world, where she explores a diverse range of poetic forms, short stories, and thought-provoking articles.
Her work has reached an international audience, with translations available in Japanese, Romanian, French, Urdu, Italian, Dutch, Croatian, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Albanian, Finnish, Greek, Indonesian, Turkish, Hindi, Bengali, and Irish. Her poems have appeared in numerous anthologies, literary journals, magazines, and newspapers across the globe.
Munia’s words have also been engraved on commemorative plaques in Ireland, honoring historic maritime tragedies. One plaque stands in the grounds of Holy Trinity Church at the Holy Trinity Heritage Centre in Carlingford, as a tribute to those lost in the 1916 collision of the SS Connemara and the SS Retriever. Another bears her quote in memory of the Hannah shipwreck victims of 1849, located beside the Newry Canal (one hundred meters from the town center) in Newry, Ireland.
A former lawyer, Munia was a member of The Poetry Society (UK) and a founding member of Poets & Artists for a Different World Movement. Through her writing, she continues to explore the beauty, complexity, and resilience of the human spirit.
